As a closure of the 2018 asphalt paving season TWW company had a reconstruction project of Campuslaan at the campus of Twente University. The project took two days with reconstruction of all roadway layers from the base to surface.
ASPARi researchers Keoma Ong-A-Fat and Denis Makarov have participated in the project with main focus on gathering data for ASPARiCool tool. The thermocouples stands that were printed with use of 3D printer were placed at the predefined locations. With usage of thermologgers asphalt mixture cooling process for every paved layer has been gathered. The temperature relations between warm layer and just paved layer were extracted. Collected data is very beneficial and will be used as one of reference sets for training of ASPARiCool prediction tool.
